Vesicular glutamate uptake and release: a new model of modulation.

講演要旨: 　　The vesicular glutamate uptake protein inhibitor IPF, when introduced into synaptosomes, caused a reduction in exocytotically released glutamate. A potent membrane-permeant vesicular glutamate inhibitor, when incubated with synaptosomes, lowered stored vesicular glutamate in the synaptosome and led to a decrease in exocytotically released glutamate. These observations indicate that the vesicular quantal size of glutamate can be varied, suggesting an alternative mode of modulation for glutamate synaptic transmission.
